Motorcycles Offer Cheap Motorized Travel and Recreation for All Genereation

As we all know that inflation is rising day by day. Prices of everything, from grocery items to medicines and from the gas to the transportation items, are rising.

Gas price of vehicles has also been affected by this inflation. There are no chances, in the near future for these prices to go down. That is why, everyone should be very careful in their spending and unnecessary expenses.

This is the common concept that if something is bigger than it is better. This concept also applies on vehicles. But, let me tell you that it is not necessary that this concept is always right. Go back and review the high-center problems of SUV’s that occurred almost ten years back.

The most important fact that must be remembered is that big vehicles are not only costly to buy but also to operate. It can need more maintenance and repairs causing more pennies.

$80 only can be charged to fill the gas tank of bigger vehicle. While, the fuel expenses of the SUVs are quite less than the above mentioned cost. Another thing, if you are a frequent user of the big car, your fuel expenses may exceed from the $80.

How to use less fuel?

This was the topic that was roused by the Federal Government of America. They put special attention in solving the above mentioned problem. Government made and passed some laws, regarding this issue. They also instructed the auto manufacturers to make higher gas mileage rating in the vehicles. But, because of the political up and down, adjustments were made.

What caused the increase in current fuel price is the Washington exception on trucks and SUV’s from the higher gas mileage rule. Arnold Schwarzenegger would not be driving 15/10 mpg Hummer H2H if these exceptions were not made.

Youth knows it:

The thinking of youth has changed and finally they have started thinking different from their elders. Our today’s young generation understands that America should now start taking steps, in order, to decrease the dependency of borrowing fuel from other countries.

They believe in the concept of self dependency. They also understand the importance of safeguarding environment. As a result, youth themselves have started taking actions. They now prefer to buy automobiles with improved gas mileage.

They have labeler motor bike as feasible mode of transport, as it require less fuel consumption. Youngsters nowadays prefer to use bikes more than their daddy’s old car. You want prove of this then visit any college and university; you will find more bikes lined on road than cars.

Scooters on the Road, now:

Vespa Scooters are one of the current examples of gasoline powered scooters. These bikes are Italian made. The LX models of these bikes costs less than $5000, only. The speed of these scooters is from 70-80 mpg at near 60 mph. The scooters are working for six and half decades and so company is skilled in introducing this type of products.

The Riptide Scooter, the Sinclair Scooter, and the Wasp Scooter are examples of other models manufactured by an American organization GS Motor Works. In past, GS motor works have also sold the Euro Scooter, the Retro Scooter, and the Sport Scooter.

GS Company does not only sell other company’s manufactured bikes but manufactures its own stripe of scooters too. Their famous always charged Blur Scooters can cost you less and deliver the speed of 70 mph. Black Cat model of theirs 100 plus mpg with the speed of 30 mph.

The Buddy Scooter delivers 100 mpg and has a speed of 30 mph and 70 mph. Range of Stella scooter accessories is also provided by the Genuine Scooter Company.

Motorcycles Serve the Transportation Needs of All Generations of Riders:

There was a time when bikes were considers as a revolution in society. Now, bikes are so common that everyone from adolescent to those moving towards old age, men or women, everyone prefer to have motorbikes as a mode of transport.

People now prefer bikes more than cars as bikes are easy to operate, it can go wherever it wants. Additionally, it does not require much maintenance as required by the cars. You can wash it your own homes and can also change its fuels. It saves your cost of operation.

Another cost that can be saved by purchasing the bikes and scooters, is the initial investment cost.  The initial cost of the bikes and scooters are much less than that of the cars.

So, you do not need to wait to collect the money for buying a vehicle for you. You can just simply go to the market and survey. Buy, the one that remains within your budget and enjoy your rides.

There is a difference between the scooter and the motorcycle. Where, high school and college going students prefer motorcycles, on the other hand, the elder people prefer scooter more.

At very young age of some people, dirt bikes were introduced and this is the time when those using dirt bikes loved it and loved the idea of having motorcycle than the car. Now when these people are elders, they are provided with vast range of bikes to choose from.

Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Harley Davidson and Kodiak are some of the recent brands manufacturing motorcycles. These companies manufacture bikes for each consumer group like standard motorcycle for the average rider, racing bikes for the adrenaline junkies, the touring bike for those riders who like to take long, leisurely rides across the country and the recreational dirt bike for those who like off-road riding.

These options have given opportunity to the every age group and each sex, to choose the one that meets their needs, as well as, suits their personality. People are also taking high interest in getting the new introduced bikes and scooters and they are becoming more aware about the new innovations. They always do market research before buying these bikes and scooters.

The Dry Beauty of Namibia

Namibia is one of the driest countries of the world. You can also call it ‘dry beauty’ whose beauty lies in multi color landscapes, hills, sparkling fantasies and unfaithful dust devils who can appear anytime.

This obvious misery life is unreliable but somehow animals, plants, and human have adjusted themselves in this environment.

The country is perfect for those who are adventurous and ready for adventure anytime. Everlasting deserts, thorn bush savanna, deserted wind damage coastlines, imposing chasm, and sun baked saltpans are some surprises that traveler gets on reaching the country.

Etosha National Park is Namibia’s one of the top rated places. Birding experience and unsurpassable physical environment are most astonishing.

If you are visiting the place for first time then ballooning over the desert, skydiving over land and sea, paragliding, whitewater rafting and sand skiing are good options to start exploring with.

If you want to have something more enjoyable then go for abseiling, coastal and fresh water angling, desert camel riding, scuba diving, hiking and rock climbing are best options.

Namibia has four geographical regions. On north is Etosha pan popular for its wildlife. Between Zambia and Botswana is a slim Caprivi Strip which is a damp region accompanied with some rivers.

With the shoreline, Namibia desert is located. This desert is said to be oldest desert of world with the age of eighty million years old. At the shoreline is meeting of Atlantic with the burning African desert causing intense fogging in the area.

Namibia is half the size of France with the population of 1.8 million only. Just like the place, residents too are quite different. San also known as Bushmen are most fascinating among all. The people have all the knowledge about their surroundings.

Their environment is different and it is amazing to look how well they have accepted and adjusted to it. We can’t even imagine living without water for a day but it’s absolutely surprising to see these people living in conditions where water is not always available.

Today, population of Bushmen is 50,000. According to historians approximation, Bushmen have had been living as hunter and gatherers for last 25,000 years. Bushmen have their own language to communicate and have special in born skills of storytelling, imitation, and dance.

Other people of Namibia include Bantu who are natives of this place. It is said that they migrated from western Africa about 2,400 years ago. Owambo, Kavango, Caprivians, Herero, Himba, Damara, Nama and Tswana are other African group of people.

In the development of African nation, not only Africans have taken part but also 15% of other groups. Population of white Namibians is almost 120,000 and is mostly German and Afrikaners. Germans moved here in and after 1884 when the country was given a status of German’s territory by Bismarck.

While on the other hand, Afrikaners, mostly white Dutch, migrated to north from Cape ager the Dutch cape colony was surrendered to British in 1806. This people have characteristics of strong and independence and their ancestors disliked British.

Basters and Coloreds are two other groups of people that reside in Namibia. Colored in Namibia and South Africa are considered as people with mixed ethnic tradition as in black and white. These people have different individuality and background.

Namibia’s infertility and rude shorelines restricted European explorers. But in 1884, German merchant Adolf Luderitz settled permanently in between Namib Desert and Atlantic seaboard. Bismarck then confirmed the area covered by Namibia a German colony and called it South West Africa. It was expected that successors of land will clash when German settlers will move in land.

Herero were not very happy and content about the profession of Germans. Herero always dislikes the cruel and chauvinistic law of Germans and their violation and interference in African land, lives, and way of life. In early 1904, Herero unexpectedly rose in weapons against their colonial overlords.

Later this revolution was joined by Nama. Authorities were not able to control the situation in six months. Many German pioneers and armed forces died in this revolution.

Lieutenant General Lothar von Trotha was given this authority to turn down the revolution. Rudolf Goering, who was the father of Herman Goering, was assigned as governor general of region. Lothar von Trotha had kind of thinking that became the policy of government under the third Reich. His argument was to demolish the Herero as a people and he did not care about women and children dying. In the end, many Nama and Herero died. Many awful things took place in camps of survivors. The Herero lost very poorly, 80% of people were destroyed. Population of Nama too was declined by 35-50%.

The only right city in the country is now Windhoek with the population of 165,000 people. This is the city to resolve practical issues. The features of German period can be noticed in looks of old buildings of the city. State Museum, State Archives, and the Namibia Crafts Center are the appealing places to visit.

Another place to visit is the Dan Vilijoen Game Park located in 24 kilometers west of Windhoek. Here you can take a look of beautiful creatures of God like ostriches, baboons, zebras, and 200 plus species of birds.

Those who like to roam the city on weekends; The Waterburg Plateau Park is just perfect to visit. It is place in 230 kilometers from Windhoek. This mountain located place is habitat to cheetah, leopard, kudu, giraffe, and white rhinos.

Namibia is quite special for those who love wildlife. Reason of the specialty is Etosha National Park. In this park, you will find vast variety of species. This abnormal land of Etosha carries Savanna grassland in it along with dark bush and forest.

But sometimes it’s a depression that grips water and cover up the area of 5000 square kilometers in Etosha pan. The continuing spring adjacent the pan is what attracts birds and land animals in winters. The view is amazing and excellent for photography.

The park is home to almost 144 species of animals and elephants in particular are plenty. Giraffe, leopard, cheetah, jackal, blue wildebeest, gemsbok, and blue rhino are among other animals. Over 300 bird species live here.

Lodging facilities are excellent here and you can spend three days observing this nature of God. Time between May and September is best to observe the animals. Etosha is located in 400 kilometers to the north of Windhoek.

Fish river valley is the only valley in the US larger. The valley is located 160 kilometers and has a breadth of 27 kilometers and deepness of 550 meters. But this is not only the size that makes this canyon attractive.

What appeals are the stunning views from different angles. Hiking is another feature that attracts adventurous people. 90 kilometer hiking track is especially developed and can take four to five days to complete.

The track ends in Ai-Ais spring resort, the best place to relax. Hiking is allowed from beginning of May to end of September. The hike is definitely exhausting and you have to be in good shape to proceed. The authorities won’t allow you to go on a hike before seeing your medical fitness certificates. Fish river valley is located 580 kilometers to the south of Windhoek.

The skeleton coast is a burial ground of seafarers and whales. Intense fog is the issue of this place. Next to the place is one of the most dry and hostile placing called Namib Desert. Adventurous people trek here along the shoreline to absorb the beauty of the place. On the south Cape Cross is located where whole colony is developed having many seals. The coast park covers the area of 16,400 square kilometers and is 355 kilometers northwest of Windhoek.

In 1486, Diego Cao, a Portuguese explorer, explored this area. He is one of those who depressed Europeans through his experiences from venturing ashore until the arrival of Germans 400 years later. On the south, Namib-Naukluft National Park is located. It is the backwoods covering the area of 50,000 square kilometers.

The land is varied and has the features of mountain outcrops, majestic sand dunes, and deep cut gorges. The Sossusvlej area is supreme for stunning dunes.

Kavango and Caprivi Strip region is located at the northeast of the country. The area is perfect for camping and for bird lovers. Kaudom, Caprivi, Mahango, Mudumu, and Mamili are the game reserves of area. During the civil war in Angola, Poachers did huge harm to wildlife. Now animals are increasing at big rate. Leopard, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, lion and other different species are including in wildlife.

More than half of the year is summer in Namibia and sun is shining for 300 days. The temperature of shoreline varies between 5C to 25C. The temperature of land varies between 20C to 34C and can increase up to 40C in north & south of the country. Not only summer is severe but winter is equally severe and ice crop up in most parts of country. The rain falls take place in summers and Caprivi region faces most heavy rains of the season. Rains do not affect travel plans. March to October is the best time to visit the place. December to march is worst time to visit the Namib desert and Etosha.

Cotton clothes are best options for summers. For winters, go for warmers, sweaters, and heavy cottons. In summer, land get hot so make sure you have good pair of shoes. Camera, binoculars, sunglasses, sun hats, sunscreen, mosquito repellant are stuff you should have in travelling. The places are quite foggy so make sure to have dust proof luggage. Do remember that things made of ivory are not allowed to carry through customs so don’t buy it.

The Story From The Mackinnon-cann Inn

Last night was one of the nicest and peaceful nights I have spent. I can’t describe the satisfaction and comfort I get inside my soft high threaded count sheets and comforters of my house at Mackinnon-Cann.

Yesterday was quite hectic and that drive down the Evangeline Trail and tour to Bear River First Nation Heritage and Cultural Center followed by evening walk to Yarmouth’s Victorian heritage areas certainly made me exhausted.

But that day is gone, and new sun has arrived with new adventures and excitement.

Breakfast is the most important thing to have to start any day and so it was first on my list of the day. I got ready and dressed up and walked towards the adorned dining area of Mackinnon-Cann Inn.

Breakfast was being ready by one of the co-owners of Inn named by Neil Hisgen. He sometimes also stops at inn to see if guests are enjoying themselves. I chatted with him for almost ten minutes about Mackinnon-Cann and other properties.

He belongs to Racine, Wisconsin and has a family with six offspring. The man served six years of his life in navy but after very short time period he came back to home having a plan of settling down in Fort Lauderdale in Florida to make career in hospitality.

First work he did in this career was at front desk in Marriot Hotel. Then he worked for 18 years in different hotels to gain experience. The last job he did as an employee was as a general manager in some popular hotel.

As the year 1997 was approaching its end, Neil came across his life partner Michael Tavares who also happens to be his business partner. He earned quite well an amount on sell of his foremost house. They used the 200 acre land of Michael at peninsula as their vacation house. On the special invitation of Michael, Neil spent about a month of his life at farm near Yarmouth. Neil loved it as he always had cherished the seasons.

Together, Neil and Michael were exploring themselves and finally reached on a decision of opening a bed and breakfast in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. They got lucky when they found out a stunning Victorian residential district having countless restoration breaks. Now, Neil had to finish his work in kitchen and so Michael joined me and told me about his life.

Michael belongs to Boston and is raised in southern part of the Boston. His majors were education in college. Later after schooling, he switched his field to real estate and opened his own brokerage firm. He always found himself attracting to ancient buildings and proved this by narrating a childhood story.

When he was 12/13 years old, there was an old farm house located near his house. He always thought on who owns this place and lives in this place. He shared his views with his mother. Seeing his curiousness, his mother with him went to land registry to find out history of the farm house.

Then he took the document and went to the current owners of the place. He let them knew about history of the place. Owners loved it. From that time, Michael is in love with beauty and history of ancient properties. He converted his love in to his profession and started buying and restoring old buildings. He has restored eight buildings in the south end of Boston.

Later he shifted to Key West and started new career of landscape architect. There he lived for five-six years and completed some assignment of designing garden for gay community.

In the year 1980, he finally took the decision of buying 200 acre land and using it as vacation property in Nova Scotia. The relationship with Yarmouth had already started at that time. Michael later made Fort Lauderdale his permanent home and met Neil at fundraising event. They lived in for a year.

In 1988, Michael invited Neil to visit his land in Nova Scotia as they were planning to spend life together. Their relationship is almost eight years old and they have been living in Nova Scotia for same period of time. The first building they restored is Victorian brick mansion presently Charles C. Richards House.

In 1887, The Mackinnon-Cann was originally built and is an art of Italianate Victorian style. The house was basically built for two cousins. Presently too, the inn has two staircases side by side.

In 2000, Neil and Michael took the hold of building and transformed it into stunning and one of the beautiful manors. The manor is consisting of seven rooms; each is adorned in different and stunning style reflecting the interior of 20th century.

The main floor has five parlors and whole dining area is made of stunning wood floor. Neil himself is a glass artist and he himself has designed every glass window of Mackinnon-Cann.

Further, Michael told me how activate he is in Nova Scotia’s heritage community. He too is a member of two historic organizations.

He is also a board of director of the Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia. The aim of this trust is to preserve the beauty of ancient buildings in the province.

Mackinnon-Cann Inn and the Charles C. Richards House; both are provincially registered heritage belongings. Michael also serves as a member of the Provincial Heritage Owners Association of Nova Scotia consists of 265 provincial heritage properties. Both the inns are also rewarded at several events.

In 2005, restoration award from the Yarmouth County Historical Society and L.B. Jenson Award was given to Michael and Neil for making great contribution in the development and economic health of Yarmouth Heritage Community.

Now a days, Michael is working on restoring another Victorian heritage property. He is planning to transform this building into a restaurant targeting tourist and local people of the community of Yarmouth.

Example of Neil and Michael’s recent work is blue-colored Victorian heritage property situated in middle of Mackinnon-Cann and Charles C. Richards House. In total, Michael and Neil have restored an entire street block, four historic places and have transformed these properties in beautiful architecture.

Michael Tavares also serves as the president of the Nova Scotia Association of Unique Country Inns. This marketing and branding group supports the endorsement of tourism in historic places. Michael looks in to marketing of inn and Neil takes care of hospitality and inn-keeping.

Michael has committed himself for the protection and restoration of old properties.  He thoroughly respects historical properties. He starts and finishes all his projects with special care and feelings which according to him many renovators do not think about. According to Michael, if we want to safeguard our culture then we should start it by restoring ancient properties.

At the very same time, he is also concerned about future of his investments and as a member of Local Yarmouth Town Planning Council he aims to take active role in shaping the town’s future. Michael and Neil are definitely one of the important persons of town who have invested many dollars and countless hours in protecting heritage and business projects.

When Michael started his career in hospitality and in preserving old building in Yarmouth, he was not accepted immediately. He was an outsider, outspoken, and always questioning and arguing on old ways of doing works. New society took some time to accept Michael especially when he and Neil was a gay couple.

But once he was accepted, no doubts remained in believing his intentions for the betterment of society. He always gave local electricians, plumbers, carpet layers, etc a chance to work in transformation of old properties.

He made local workers his main supplier. This earned him the respect and trust of local merchants. He has earned such goodwill that people take his suggestions and advices before make important decision on important issues of the town.

After I was done with my yummy and healthy breakfast, Michael gave me special tour of all of his properties. The first on the list was smaller Victorian house. The house is under renovation. Michael is conducting himself his other assignments.

He himself will do all the architecture and call the specialized contractors only when needed. He definitely has an art of rescuing a property and turning it into most stylish and stunning property from bad looking almost ruined property.

Then we visited blue Victorian mansion which is recently restored. We finished the visits with Charles C. Richards House. The house is a striking Victorian brick mansion with elegant architecture. The building work was started in 1893 and completed over a period of two years. It was the first brick house that ever builds in Yarmouth.

Special material was used in building like brownstone, granite, and bricks especially imported from United States. Michael informed me about interesting fact that it took him one season to strip the layers of paint and thirty two weeks to repaint it.

Unique and stunning looks of each room is definitely admirable. The flower-filled conservatory adds more beauty to it. Before leaving the Inn, I requested for a photograph of Neil and Michael. They posed for me in front of beautifully wooden staircase which takes you to the rooms in upper floor.

I finally have now reached to the end of my beautiful and memorable journey of introduction to architectural preservation and heritage tourism in Yarmouth. I expressed my gratitude for welcoming me here and giving me all the details of their work.

I prepared myself for next journey ahead: exploration of Yarmouth history at the Yarmouth County Historical Museum situated right side of the street from Charles C. Richards House.

General Luggage Policies

The point which should be taken into notice is that when the total number of inches (e.g. 45”) is used to show the maximum size of any measurement then it means the total of inches show the total of the length, breath and height of that thing combined.

There are some defined dimensions which are used to standardize these totals (for an example, 22 x 14 x 9, standard for 45 inches) but in case you own a bag having irregular shape and it fulfills the total of the inches but still there is a risk of it being rejected. In most stores, there are bags with the name of “carry-on” but they don’t have the standard 45” inches size actually but larger than that.

The luggage stores not only but manufacturers also not measure these bags accurately. Most of the airlines accept the standard safe maximum size 45” with 22” x 14” x 9” as dimensions but some accept maximum 55”. They measure the inner size of the compartment usually leaving all the outer pockets, wheels and carry handle, which will only add to the number of total inches.

If your bag exceeds even one extra inch then you’ll have to try to squeeze and fit your bag into the luggage template by the gate. You’ll get on board having legal but a large sized carryon content.

If you find your overhead bins already full then you will have to fit your luggage under the front seat but it may not fit there, no matter your bag is under the standard size guideline of the airlines.

You’ll mostly find on the international airlines that the space under the front seat is getting really smaller and the reason is they have fit electronic boxes under to entertain each passenger.

If you find that the seat is free from that blocking box then you’ll notice very little space under the aisle seat, a little more under the wing seat and most space under the middle one and this could be taken as the only advantage of this seat. Your bag can just fit into that space in words but not in real because of the geometry and angles of the space.

You will have to free yourself by bringing the smallest bag of your true need for your ease and the fellow passengers as well. The most airlines restrict you with their rules about the luggage size, weight and the number of luggage brought to the plane but U.S. domestic airlines are liberal about their limits.

Traveler’s survey

Talking about the survey taken in June 04 of Travel Insider Newsletter readers, 80% of readers said that they did not find any problem exceeding their carryon luggage than the given limits.

But you will have a different opinion on this if you will find the overhead bins filling up all the space with big sized heavy weight carryon bags and there is no space for your small size bag, which you brought following all the guidelines and rules. 94.5% readers had the statement that they don’t exceed carryon luggage limits.

These items are for example a briefcase, camera, Handbag/Purse, Laptop (in carry bag), and other items in 36" limit as total dimension, Reading Matter, Small book-bag style backpack, and an Umbrella.

Generally you are allowed to carry a bag and a personal item but some airlines give you the relaxation to bring content e.g. coats, hats and other 'outer clothing' items, 'assistive devices' such as crutches/canes and wheelchairs, diaper bags and approved child safety seats.

These airlines do not charge any extra cash for this. If you are unlucky for having an airline which forces you to follow the carryon luggage guidelines then you will have to get your disallowed items checked. Some international airlines restrict you especially about the weight of your carryon luggage.

In some airlines, there is so much pathetic and absurd limit of weight as low as 11lbs which even is less than the total weight of your carryon bag.

So you need to be very careful while flying on an international airline otherwise you will surely find someone, the next time when you would be on the airport, worriedly and anxiously unpacking and then repacking his carryon luggage on the checking counter’s floor, and would get shocked if he would be YOU! It is seen sometimes that even international airlines also have smaller standard limits for carryon luggage allowances.

If you want to save your self from all this hectic and want your luggage bags to get approved by both domestic and international airlines then you need to have one bag or two of smaller sizes whose combined total size is even less than the maximum allowed domestic carryon sizes.

You will find your carryon and checked content allowances for luggage got even more shrink while you are flying on a reasonable small plane.

Employment status must be taken into account while the marketers go ahead to allocate the resources for marking the customers.

The number of contacts which a full time employee makes is equal to both the part timers and stay-at-homers.

For sampling his products, a customer package goods manufacturer tries to stay near the customers’ workplace instead of traditional in-home sampling. “Contact” in context of study, which can be described as “any kind of communication directly to an in-person, via phone, instant/text messages, or written as email, of a person with another person.

Stay-at-homers mostly do regular visits to chat rooms, free email services, message boards, forums or any place where they can find an information room easily. It’s a good way to pass the information online, using web site addresses and promotion codes. It’s a well working trick for this group of people in marketing efforts.

Marketers take income of $75000 as a gateway to richness but results showed a clear cut increase in word of mouth or (WOM) activity for people having incomes between $75000 to $90000 as compared to the ones having incomes $100000 or above.

Technology plays a vital role in nurturing different generations’ WOM. Just have a look into it here. Youth is greatly working in building their personal online media, as almost one quarter owns their own blog and half (49%) owns a website.

Talking about their peers, a quarter goes to chat rooms and message boards regularly and instant or text messaging does 17% of the contact activity. Gen X and boomers are more inclined towards emailing resulting in positive WOM.

These groups have matured their selves for viral email campaigns. Research showed that marketers’ interest is to reach silver birds via message boards and chat rooms.

Comparing with boomers, marketers do more activities in these areas and reach almost equal to the activity of Gen X. The main reason for this is their interest in reconnection with their family and friends. They desire to do discussions about health, medical and some other problems of aging with professionals and peers.

This group of people have done lots of hard work all of their life and now they have lots of time and money to spend on these types of trips, cruises, flights around the world.

Duty-Free Travel Information

The European Union, Iceland, Norway, Japan, Singapore, Australia and other countries have put some terms and regulations into effect regarding liquids in hand carry bags.

The passengers are having the potential implementation, who buy liquid duty-free items (e.g. perfume and liquor), while they go to or from international destinations.

This is because a number of duty-free shops in some countries are situated before the security checkpoint, so to pass these duty-free items from these security checkpoints, they are packed in special sealed tamper-evident bags.

U.S. checkpoint does not accept the tamper-evident bag currently. These are the guidelines must be followed by you in U.S. or abroad to avoid the risk of having your liquid duty free items abandoned.

Note: the items for which these security measures apply are as follows; liquid, gel and aerosol.

Passengers who are going to travel from the United States to an international destination will get permitted for their duty free items of any size in the US if they have a direct flight to the international destination.

But in case, your flight is not direct then the duty free item which is having a container size more than three ounces will not be permitted through the security checkpoints as it will not be sealed in an approved tamper-evident bag.

Note: In U.S., you will not be receiving any tamper evident bag for buying a liquid duty free item, before passing through international checkpoints.

Passengers who return from an international destination to United States: on flights whose destination is U.S. Duty free items bought on plane or after the security checkpoint, will only get permission, in case they get delivery in the aircraft for passenger pickup.

If you are having an INDIRECT flight then the duty free items which come up with the U.S. requirements will not be permitted to pass the security checkpoint.

So you will have to place them in your checked luggage and you will be reclaiming them before passing through custom check, you can have a look on your items and place them in your bag.

Be careful while going to any country, do some homework on that country’s laws and regulations as they change from country to country.

Some countries strictly forbid any type of sprays, fruits, nuts or liquors. The tip while you are on an international trip is that you must buy any duty free items when your journey is about to end.

Countries that provide tamper evident bags are Europe, Japan etc so before the checkpoints, don’t open the bag otherwise they will seize your duty free purchases.

If you are having an indirect flight, and you are going to come back from it, and your destination is United States, you must use your time doing some useful stuff like placing your liquid duty free content in your bags which have been checked.

Below are some guidelines regarding the dimensions for carryon luggage, which would be useful for you when you are planning to go for an international tour.

The first thing which you need to care for is that you must comply with the rules and regulations about the carryon sizes and other things of that particular flight. U.S.: it is seen that most of the airlines either they are domestic or commuter, their dimensions are 22”x14”x9”.

There are some airlines which allow you the second smaller sized item along, for example a tote, cosmetic bag, briefcase, and some others.

Talking about the international dimensions, they are 18”x14”x9”. This is not a standard dimension but it is the most recommended and it changes with the change in the airlines.

Travel For Peace: Introducing Servas And Pablo Chufeni

In Vancouver, Canada-US Servas Conference was held and it was the start of August. There I met Pablo and got an hour with him.

Servas is an organization whose hosts and travelers are in over 130 countries. This organization is having a motto “Travel for peace”. It greatly supports and promotes the understanding and tolerance among different cultures. Pablo is one of the volunteers of this organization.

While spending time with him, my basic motive was to know about his involvement in Servas. I found that Pablo used to wear a smile on her face all the time. He had a great amount of energy. He got a chance to travel in a great range of European, North and South American countries while working with Servas.

Servas developed much with the help of Pablo. He tackled and controlled the international network of Servas with creativity as an honest and dedicated volunteer and so, he took the start for the Servas members to exchange their languages with the help of other Servas travelers.

This facility of language training along with accommodation is provided free of any costs through the Servas area hosts. This network developed and included many countries to it; Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, the United States and Canada. Spanish, Portuguese, French and English are the language options with no cost for the young Servas members to study.

His work for Servas does not ends up here. He is arranging and organizing and making planning for a youth summit for Servas which will be held in January 2006.

Its place will be the resort town of Bariloche, Argentina. These are the activities done by him after the regular work of Servas, as part-time. Here, have the pleasure to meet this positive energy package – Pablo Chufeni.

1.    We want to know about belongings, profession and your place of living. Let us know about all this?

My age is 27 and I am serving as a theatre professor in different institutes. There are some other activities relating learning which includes the study of politics, French and Portuguese from a university. I am living in Rosario city, which is in Argentina.

Along with living, I am working for a social program of a developing bank here in this city. Another thing which I am doing is teaching the teenagers, who currently are at risk.

Another activity which could not hold my interest, was working as a general producer at a local TV station. I worked for it for 7 years but then found that it was time consuming so left it and tried to utilize my time in some other way. In my city, there is a foundation, which is serving for cultural promotion and I am part of it.

2.    You are known to be serving for Servas from reasonable years. Where did you get to know about it and tell us about your first travelling experience. How was it?

While I was sitting at a coffee table, I heard about Servas suddenly. At first, I travelled to Europe but as a traveler, but then I thought of making my own Servas hosts group. I made it in my city and then devoted myself to this organization.

I have been called to Canada, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, UK and Uruguay for official meetings. I can not explain my deep experiences relating Servas in just some lines. It is really difficult to tell about them in just an hour talk. All my experiences were life changing.

3.    What are those countries which you have been travelling while working for Servas? What were the belongings and kinds of those people whom you were hosting? What is the thing which made Servas special for you?

The list of the places which I travelled while working for Servas includes Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Canada, Spain, Belgium, France, Ireland, Portugal, and the UK.

This list will surely get bigger and bigger as soon as possible. People from Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Brazil were being hosted by me at my home. I always welcome all of the Servas travelers to my home.

Servas not only gives people the opportunity to get together but encourages the others to do do for Servas as well. Servas is having great and devoted people. This is only the reason why they always ready to open their doors for you and feel it a pleasure to serve you by spending their time in chat with you and showing you Servas world.

4.    Let us know about your 3 amazing or favorite memories about travelling?

I had the pleasure to meet a couple, man was from Angola and the girl was Mexican. They were really great. They met through Servas. She got to know him while staying at his home as a Servas traveler. Currently they have wedded.

In Brussels, a guy whom I met had the experience to eat the uncooked food. So, he had strong ideas about the flavors of food and health. He had opinions on the art of cooking that humans started cooking just by tasting the flavors by their tongue.

One of the amazing experiences which I can never forget is when I met an Arab person who was living in Paris. A show which was in Ute Lemper, was being seen by us together. I heard of the concert tickets of my favorite German singer but sadly, they were all been SOLD OUT! I was feeling bad about this.

But I got surprised when he asked me, Pablo! I have bought tickets to the German singer show tonight, would you like to go? And I had a great experience there with him.

5.    Let us know about your 3 amazing or unforgettable hosting experiences.

It is not a thing which I can tell you as all of my guests which I have been hosting were really good in their own different ways.

A number of more questions were asked from Pablo, which you will find in another article here on this website. Pablo is a great person for inspiration so get to know more about him.
